Aryabhatt Educational and Health trust JIM Program: Enhancing Rural Households with Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in Odisha
Aryabhatt Educational and Health trust JIM (Jobs in Maintenance) program has made significant strides in delivering Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) to all rural households in Odisha. This initiative has been instrumental in providing access to clean water and sanitation facilities to rural communities. As a result of this program’s success, there is an anticipated surge in demand from households for plumbing and allied services. The extension of pipelines to toilets, kitchens, storage tanks, and the need for periodic repair and maintenance have created a growing need for skilled plumbers. Recognizing this, Aryabhatt Educational and Health trust has taken proactive measures by training over 1,400 plumbers across Odisha under the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWS&S) program. By equipping individuals with the necessary plumbing skills, the trust is not only meeting the demand for plumbing services but also generating employment opportunities in the region. Aryabhatt Educational and Health trust JIM program is actively improving the quality of life for rural households in Odisha by ensuring access to functional tap connections and providing skilled plumbers for ongoing maintenance and development.
